About 2km to the northeast of Hoi An Old Quarter, between De Vong river and Tra Que seaweed lagoon, Tra Que vegetable village in Tra Que hamlet, Cam Ha commune, Hoi An city has been famous for a long time for many vegetable products grown on fertile soil that are fertilized with waterweed from the river. So they have theirs own unique flavors.

Up to now, Tra Que vegetable village is famous for having more than 20 types of leafy and spice vegetables, especially there are many types that those from other places can’t have the tastier flavors, such as: basil, basil seed, perilla … When mixing types of vegetables together, 5 tastes will meet: spicy, sour, sweet, bitter and acrid. Thanks to that special flavor, Tra Que vegetables have contributed to the popularity of the native dishes available in Hoi An and Quang Nam.

In Tra Que Vegetable village , there are a few dozen households both growing clean vegetables and doing business in the form of “homestay” – for Vietnamese or foreign tourists to participate in the work of planting clean vegetables with farmers.
